Hurricane Ron C J Hatch Books

The story of Ron McKee hooked me immediately. As a big fan of Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt adventures this really had a similar feel with the exception of the main character in this story being a bit more relatable and the locations not as exotic. It takes place in the South East with multiple back stories to include the field of combat in the Middle East. Ron seems like an everyday guy with an alpha male past which reluctantly comes into play during the story. His life could be that of any number of military veterans. Unfortunately for Ron but great for the reader, a momentary lapse of judgement leads to a domino effect in his world leading him far from home into a pit off hell that he must claw his was out of to make it back to the one thing that matters.

Forgive me for not giving much more but I hate spoilers in book reviews.

This book would be great for anyone that enjoys a good adventure, Active duty military & Vets, broadcast journalists, and Harley riders. There is plenty of fighting and the language is just above PG-13 so it should be fine for many young adults.

I sincerely look forward to more adventures from this author, C.J. Hatch. If the devil is in the details than C.J. Hatch is the devil. He really did his research or has experienced many things first hand. His knowledge on motorcycles, military combat, broadcast journalism, and geography of the southern US up into the Appalachians really comes through in this adventure. With this being his first book, I imagine the stories will get even better.

Hurricane Ron C J Hatch Books Reviews

This was a thrilling read! I loved the main character from the get go. It gets right into the action and you learn more about the characters as you go. I became emotionally invested in the outcome because I could relate to them so well. And things just never went how I thought they would. I was waiting to see how the hell Ron would get himself out of every hairpin turn and I finished wanting more. I would love to see sequels! Great read!
Like it tremendously. If Mr Hatch continues writing, whether the continued adventures of Ron McKee or a separate character / world altogether, I'll gladly crack it open each novel.
Hurricane Ron was a fun read. It was full of surprises, and new characters jumped on and off the ride throughout. Ron's outlook, and the situations he encountered, were a bit dark at times, but the book was no less enjoyable for that. Will be watching for more from this author.
Strongly cast, fast-paced thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride that CJ Hatch took me on with Ron McKee. Great characters, tense plotting and excellent description of a variety of locales. I finished this convinced that there has to be a sequel in the works. Nicely done, Mr. Hatch. Definitely recommended.
Excellent action packed novel with lots of interesting twists, turns, and characters. Hatch's writing is excellent, you can feel the blows in the fights, the humidity in the southern gulf coast air, and the rush of adrenaline from the action packed motorcycle riding. This is a thriller, with the action covering the incredible forces of people, nature, and machine all wrapped in a page turning what's going to happen next format. The characters are all well developed and interesting; the settings for the story also very well developed and interesting. Highly recommend!
An action-packed, yet thought-provoking thriller about a man on the run from problems that only grow more complicated the more he tries to evade them. When Ron McKee finally sets about making things right, his vengeance leaves a wake of destruction one would expect from a full-blown hurricane. Well-developed characters you can practically reach out and touch gives this tale a storyline that touches on hot-button issues of the day; such as veterans and PTSD, Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, and international affairs. This is Hatch's first novel, yet he already shows a flair for gripping plots with believable characters who have rich and well-thought out backgrounds and motivations. A must read you should fully expect to see on the big screen some day.
HURRICANE RON is the first book in a Southern action/crime trilogy featuring a troubled news reporter living on Alabama's Gulf Coast. It has good cops, bad cops, military, and bikers. What’s not to like, eh? The hero is flawed but likeable. The characters in the book are memorable and well developed. The pacing is rapid and exciting. Locale descriptions seem spot on. (I haven’t been to the Gulf Coast in over 36 years, but while reading HURRICANE RON, I could swear I was back there again.)

Recently fired from his job, as in that very afternoon, Ron McKee knows he will catch some flak from his wife, but he’s actually feeling pretty good, all things considered. That feeling will quickly subside as McKee makes a series of decisions that will send his life reeling from bad to worse to…Well, that’s anybody’s guess. It’s not that he is intent on self-destruction, it’s simply that each hasty decision or encounter makes an already ominous outcome seem more likely than not.

However, Ron McKee is a sympathetic character and readers will be rooting for him all the way!

The author has delivered a tale that will appeal to a wide range of readers. Thriller fans and action fans, yes, but the book will also appeal to readers who like outlaws, corrupt cops, and stories that charge along like a runaway freight train.
